Inserting Soft Lenses Continued

Blurred vision

If, after you have inserted your right lens, you experience blurred vision, check to be sure that it is centered on your eye properly by covering the left eye with your hand. If your vision is clear, the lens is in its proper place. If your vision is blurred, your lens may be off-center.

To center a lens:
Look in the direction of the displaced lens -- it should automatically move toward the center of the eye and assume the correct position; or Close your eyelids and gently massage the lens into place through the closed lid, using your index finger; or Gently push the off-centered lens onto the cornea while the eye is open, using finger pressure on the edge of the upper/lower lids. Do not re-center the lens by placing your finger directly on the lens; use the edges of your eyelids to move and re-position it. If your lenses are centered and your vision continues to be blurred, determine if your lenses are:

  • Clean
  • In the correct eyes
  • Inside-out

If your vision is still blurred after checking the above possibilities, remove your lenses and consult your eye care practitioner.
